I started doing CrossFit in 2008. I wanted to become a Firefighter and knew I wasn’t in good enough shape. I had to drive about an hour to get to the closest gym. My first class had a workout with 84 pull-ups in it. I remember girls flying through the workout while I was strapped in with a bunch of bands and finished in dead last. It was humbling but I was hooked. After a year of 5 classes a week I passed my first Fire physical with ease. To this date I am still learning and still being challenged in the gym. I have been coaching since 2010 and get excited to see people push themselves and succeed in the gym. It’s extremely rewarding to get to be a part of someone finally reaching their goal whether that be to lose 20lbs, deadlift 500lbs or finally air squat pain free. It’s what keeps me excited to come in and coach.
